KATRIBU salutes its volunteers, advocates and allies
On behalf of KATRIBU Partylist, I salute our volunteers, advocates and allies who shared their time, resources and commitment to advance the historic bid of indigenous peoples for representation in the House of Representatives. Your vigorous support enabled us to hurdle challenges posed by scarce resources, political harassment and other limitations our campaign encountered.
We commend the voters who braved long walks and queues under the searing sun, particularly the indigenous peoples and advocates who placed their trust on us despite harassment and discrimination. Moreover, we congratulate the victors, especially those who fully supported us.

IPs shocked over COMELEC decision
Indigenous peoples' party KATRIBU, was aghast over the decision of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to allow presidential son Mikey Arroyo to represent the security guards as a representative of Ang Galing Partylist (AGP).
According to Nelson Mallari, KATRIBU secretary general, “The Comelec's decision is a defeat on the true essence of the partylist system. The partylist system is meant to facilitate participation of marginalized sectors and should not be used to serve selfish interests such as the Arroyos.”

IPs faces black prop, disenfranchisement—KATRIBU Partylist
Manila(May 5)—Nearly capping off their nationwide campaign, a colorful caravan of indigenous peoples and supporters of KATRIBU Partylist made rounds in Manila, injecting an ethnic flavor to the campaigns in the nation’s capital.
A dose of indigenous culture to passersby, KATRIBU Partylist gave brief performances during stops at their caravan. The Dulaang Iglap or flash performances were a good way of getting urbanites to stop and listen, the group said. “In Manila where indigenous culture is not commonplace, we are able to get people’s attention and hopefully their votes as well,” Nelson Mallari, an Aeta and KATRIBU secretary general, said
